Stuckgowan on Loch Lomond is part of the Stuckgowan Estate Collection of properties – dated from before 1820 and was built with elegant lancet windows and arched doorways as Gothic and Norman references but above all with grace and balance. The house and grounds were built by the McMurrick family between 1798 and 1820 as their country residence. At that time the estate covered 5000 acres of land and included most of the village of Tarbet and over the hills to Arrochar. John McMurrick in partnership with John Napier was also the owner of the first steamboats to travel on Loch Lomond. The present owners are only the third owners and spent 2 years in renovation and repairs inside and out, totally restoring and upgrading with bespoke furnishing to provide an exceptional residence in which to get away from it all. The owners have now purchased the land on the other side of the road which now permits our guests to enjoy beach and loch side access of Loch Lomond.
We offer 9 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. – 1 bedroom with an 8ft circular bed, 1 triple room, 2 double rooms with child’s day beds, 3 further double bedrooms, 2 twin rooms and 6 Bathrooms/shower rooms. All luxury linen and towels are provided with our own Stuckgowan toiletries.
