Today I’m delighted to launch a new series of blogs, each focusing on one of the luxury properties within the Susan Reid Collection and, more personally, my favourite room in each one.
First up is the beautiful Hawkswood House, part of the award-winning Hawkswood Country Estate, just minutes from St Andrews.
Choosing a favourite room wasn’t difficult. For me, it has to be the upper-floor lounge.
Hawkswood House offers three generous lounge areas, each with its own character, but there is something particularly special about this room. The soft colour palette creates a wonderfully calm and relaxing atmosphere, making it the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring St Andrews, playing golf, or simply enjoying time with family and friends.
I can easily picture guests gathering here in the afternoon with a good book and a coffee, or spending long summer evenings chatting over a glass of wine as the sun begins to set.
One of my favourite features is the pair of French doors opening onto the spacious balcony. On warm days, simply open the doors wide and let the fresh country air flow through the room. It’s the perfect spot to sit back, relax and appreciate the peaceful surroundings of Hawkswood Country Estate.
